Clinics with Steve

Steve regularly holds 2 and 3 day clinics throughout New Zealand which are popular with both riders and spectators alike.

The first day of the clinic consists of gaining discipline and a mutual respect with your horse. This is done by teaching horses and riders basic groundwork manouevers that create the foundation to encourage your horse to move more freely, confidently and softly under saddle on the second and third days of the clinic.

This building block programme develops softness and a suppleness to the riders hand and leg. Common dressage movements such as leg yielding, turn on the forehand and turn on the haunches (pirouettes), rein back and many more all become quite simple exercises for even the greenest of horses when the right initial foundations are put in place.

These small, personal clinics offer a friendly and easy learning environment and are suitable for any level of horse and rider from all disciplines.

One on one sessions are also available during some clinics.

This check list features some of the initial work that is covered during a clinic with Steve. Once these techniques have been acheived, more advanced work can be undertaken. The exercises mentioned in this check list may not make any sense or be clear how to acheive them unless you have already attended a clinic!
